DMY Capitol employees were on hand during the groundbreaking ceremony for the new DC United Stadium in Buzzard Point. The ceremony took place on Monday, April 25, 2016 and featured DC Mayor Muriel Bowser, representatives of the development team and executives and members of the DC
United along with Talon, the DC United mascot. Under the agreement to build the stadium, the District is required to clear the site of hazardous materials, so DMY Capitol was hired by DGS to provide environmental services. Under the direction of Jeff Mitchell, DMY Capitol’s Environmental Manager,
staff is monitoring the abatement and performing clearance testing to get close-outs in order to obtain the raze permits necessary to demolish the existing buildings and prepare the site for construction.
